Data Warehouse Developer
Location: Madrid Term: Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Madrid office for a Data Warehouse Developer. This is a really exciting role for someone to work within our Risk function collaborating with system developers and the Risk team to build robust data pipelines and ensure the efficient storage of data across the Colchester Group working with both internally developed and third-party systems.
The Role
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and storage solutions for critical business data.
- Collaborate with systems developers and the Risk team to integrate and optimise data flows.
- Design and implement databases and data warehouses to support Colchester operations.
- Ensure data integrity and security in all processes.
- Produce and maintain documentation describing functionality, data flow and processes of Colchester systems. This documentation to be used for maintenance and development of systems and where applicable as a user guide.
- Ensure that connectivity between systems and databases integrating third party data sources and systems follow agreed Colchester IT Architecture strategy
- Work closely with external suppliers to integrate systems with Colchester business processes and systems recommending improvements and changes to systems where required.
- Be familiar with regulatory standards for system and data security and apply these to Colchester systems
- Other tasks as may be required, commensurate with the level of the post.
About You
- Degree in Computer Science or a related subject
- Must have a minimum of 3 years database development experience.
- Experience with designing, normalisation and dimensional modelling on databases and data warehouses.
- Comfortable manipulating data of different formats.
- Familiar with ETL concepts and experience in building stored procedures in SQL.
- Good understanding of the full software development life cycle, project management principles, strong documentation and problem solving skills.
- Any experience with Qlik / Power BI / Tableau, Python or SharePoint would be highly advantageous.
- Understanding of financial markets and instruments is advantageous.
- Must have business level fluency in English.

- Ability to work under pressure, give realistic estimates and work to deadlines.
