Graduate Trainee
Location: London Term: 18 Month Fixed Term Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Colchester Global Investors for a Graduate Trainee to join the Company within our Operations Team on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
The Operations Team is made up of two key functions: Trade Processing and Settlements and Reconciliations and Reporting. During the programme, you will gain experience across both departments, providing a broad understanding of the critical role Operations plays in supporting the firm’s investment activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to build a career within investment operations and gain exposure to a wide range of processes within a global asset management business.
The Role:
As a Graduate Trainee, you will receive structured training and hands-on experience across the Operations function. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing an understanding of the integral role Operations team plays within an asset management business.
- Assisting with the accurate and timely completion of Net Asset Value (NAV) reconciliations for UCITS, commingled funds and separate accounts.
- Supporting the production of internal performance and attribution reporting for Investment Managers.
- Assisting with daily cash reconciliations.
- Supporting daily regulatory reporting requirements.
- Learning about and assisting with the settlement of trades across client portfolios
- Supporting portfolio reconciliations and client reporting activities.
- Gaining exposure to the processing of collateral, initial margin and clearing obligations.
- Assisting with the processing of bonds and foreign exchange (FX) transactions and investigating settlement queries and exceptions.
- Building an understanding of industry best practice, operational controls and risk management processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A bachelor’s degree (or be expecting to graduate soon) in a relevant discipline.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team but also have the confidence to work autonomously when required.

Application Support Analyst
Location: Singapore Term: Permanent
We are looking for an Application Support Analyst to take responsibility for supporting and enhancing all internally developed applications used by the Colchester Group. You will be working as a key member of the development team ensuring that a high level of support is maintained for all internal customers.
Some of the work you will be involved with includes:
- Provide high-quality support for business-critical application(s) or data system
- Develop and maintain an in-depth detailed knowledge of the applications you manage, including data structures, scheduled jobs, reports, and interfaces to other applications
- Maintain know-how documentation of all the support tasks with resolution
- Identify recurrent issues and conduct root cause analysis
- Propose solutions to reduce recurring support tasks
- Develop programmes and processes for internally developed IT systems to deliver efficient business processes in all Colchester offices.
- Work on IT solutions that implement business processes such as trade order management, client reporting, data warehouse, risk reporting, month end processing and regulatory reporting.
About You
- Strong Application Support experience, gained within a Financial Services environment (either buy or sell side).
- Good SQL knowledge with experience in ETL, T- SQL, SSRS and SSIS
- Must be comfortable with debugging\writing complex queries, views, functions, and stored procedures.
- Front-end application support experience in C# and WinForms.
- Troubleshooting skills in windows services
- Confident using version control tools like Team foundation Server/ Azure DevOps, Git repositories.
As a Application Support Analytst you will have:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, agile environment with a good understanding of what agility means for a development team.
- Ability to work independently as a team contributor, being proactive whilst considering team goals.
- Ability to work under pressure, give realistic estimates and work to deadlines.
